City Love - New York City (Flashback)
I have been holding onto these photos for the past year. My first visit to the illuminating, gritty, massively large New York City.
I visited NYC for the first time last February 2011. I wanted to visit to experience the city and to get a better grasp of the design world, what it entails, and the resources out there for aspiring designers.
While there I visited several fabric warehouses in the Garment District, aka "Fashion Center," seeking exquisite one of a kind fabrics and of course I had to see a selection of the finest silks from India.
I hope you enjoy the photo journal :)

I took the "A" Train to East Harlem where I got off at the wrong stop but ended up at... |
The Apollo Theater! The Apollo was the theater that propelled several female jazz legends to promising careers, including Sarah Vaughn & Ella Fitzgerald. |
I stayed at the all female "Pink Hostel" in East Harlem, truly bohemian. |
First stop on business, the Fashion Center of NYC in Times Square |
Empire State Building, it was ridiculously large! |
I visited last February so love and fashion were in the air! |
This photo captures the true essence of my being. |
Oh the fabric, the silk.... |
What a wonderful recap, jen!
