City Love - New York City (Flashback)

I have been holding onto these photos for the past year. My first visit to the illuminating, gritty, massively large New York City.

I visited NYC for the first time last February 2011.  I wanted to visit to experience the city and to get a better grasp of the design world, what it entails, and the resources out there for aspiring designers.

While there I visited several fabric warehouses in the Garment District, aka "Fashion Center," seeking exquisite one of a kind fabrics and of course I had to see a selection of the finest silks from India.

I hope you enjoy the photo journal :)
I took the "A" Train to East Harlem where I got off at the wrong stop but ended up at...

The Apollo Theater!
The Apollo was the theater that propelled several female jazz legends
to promising careers, including Sarah Vaughn & Ella Fitzgerald.

I stayed at the all female "Pink Hostel" in East Harlem, truly bohemian.

First stop on business, the Fashion Center of NYC in Times Square

Empire State Building, it was ridiculously large!

I visited last February so love and fashion were in the air!

This photo captures the true essence of my being.

Oh the fabric, the silk....
